Junior Art Director

Scope/Responsibility:
The Junior Art Director represents the 'new blood' of the team. He or she should bring energy, and an eagerness to learn how to think strategically and execute brilliantly. He or she must also learn how to communicate ideas internally and with clients, as well as develop an awareness and understanding of the creative process from concept to production.

Specific Duties:
The Art Director's duties include but are not limited to:
Conceiving and executing design consistent with the agreed-upon strategy
Following a project from concept development through production
Maintaining personal graphic resources, visual data, samples and graphic standards
Maintaining consistently high graphic standards and staying aware of new techniques and trends in graphic arts and desk top publishing.
Reviewing pre-press files, for accuracy before production
Reviewing film with Creative Supervisor or Creative Director before final printing
Presenting creative ideas and techniques to Creative Supervisor/Creative Director
Getting Creative Supervisor's approval on every phase of work from concept development, concept execution, electronic prepress through print production.

REQUIREMENTS
Position Requirements:
The ability to present an advertising idea in a fresh, engaging visual manner (demonstrated in portfolio)
A strong design and conceptual sense
The ability to apply fresh thinking to agreed upon strategy or direction.
Willingness/eagerness to take direction to perfect his or her skills
Attention to detail
Excellent computer skills; Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator
Knowledge of production in as many media as possible
Awareness of popular culture and the 'world at large'
