SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Johns Manville is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Innovation and Commercialization (I&C) Program Manager to be located in Denver, CO. The I&C Program Manager is responsible for identifying, analyzing and scoping new products and applications for JM’s Engineered Products Group. The Program Manager will lead multiple projects for the Construction Materials and Systems business unit.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Translating strategic growth opportunities into focused new product development projects through ideation, prioritization of initiatives, exploratory fitness-for-use and the use of six sigma tools.
Establishing strong value propositions for new product concepts that will result in successful developments and sustained sales of differentiated products to our customers.
Quantifying value in relevant market segments for JM and develop compelling business case.
Identifying requirements and developing sharp product definitions for potential new developments that will lead to solutions that provide value to our customers.
Leading new product development projects from initiation to successful commercialization in-line with new product growth targets.
Driving excellence in staged product development and in project management in the I&C Group.
Creating working atmosphere directed to idea generation and new product & application development.
Demonstrating aggressive IP protection attitude for new developments.
Keeping abreast of market intelligence on competitor’s technology and product platforms and feedback into I&C group and business team.

Experience and technical or functional knowledge required:

Bachelor’s degree required; Technical (chemistry / engineering) or MBA preferred.
High energy, creative and innovative with entrepreneurial drive and work ethic.
Ability to learn and translate complex technical needs into robust products
Ability to execute with strong project management skill set.
Track record of successful customer interactions with the objective to develop new products (preferably 3+ years).
Experience with six sigma approach.
Ability to work within cross-functional teams stretching from the Americas into Eastern and Western Europe.
Knowledge, and preferably demonstrated successful working experience, with Stage-Gate type of process(es).
Results oriented project management skills with a track record in executing product development projects successfully, within scope, timeline and budget.
Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
Intellectual Property track record
Strong technical skills in data gathering, analysis and evaluation and strong working knowledge of personal computers. Excellent report writing.
Strong sense of urgency
Strong customer focus and proven customer interface skills
Flexibility to travel on the average 30% of the time
