This position raises funds in support of our mission, implementing special events in their assigned geographic territories in partnership with community volunteers. Representatives also identify opportunities for the development of Cancer Programs, and assist with execution of Division-led marketing communications, media relations and advocacy strategies as assigned.The American Cancer Society, Illinois Division has Income Development Representative openings in the following cities in Illinois: Rockford, Peoria, Springfield, Marion, Maryville, Champaign, Riverside, Evanston, Chicago, and Batavia.
REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Able to present convincingly the full spectrum of ACS program offerings & deliver successfully ACS income development offerings.
Ability to interact effectively with community leaders, corporate executives and government leadership.Ability to recruit, train and motivate community-based volunteers that are committed to addressing the cancer burden identified through data by proving appropriate initiatives/interventions.
Excellent project management, communication, collaboration and team participation skills.Proven relationship building, persuasion and influence skills.Remains composed under stress and takes personal responsibility for delivering on personal and organizational commitments
Ability to work effectively with diverse constituents.Ability to travel within assigned territory.
Able to lift 30 lbs and perform basic set up & take down of special event equipment (tents, folding tables, loading/unloading boxes, setting up displays, etc).
Must have access to car or be able to transport materials to and from meetings and special events/programs.
Must be able to staff evening and weekend committee meetings, events and programs.Must be able to staff Friday and Saturday overnight Relay and other events, and remain onsite for the duration of the event.Computer competence, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, data management, Lotus Notes.NonsmokerInterested qualified candidates please send cover letter and resume to [Click here for email].
