Formwork & Shoring Products Manager

A. H. Harris & Sons, Inc., one of the country’s largest private distributors of construction materials, has a New England based opening for an individual experienced in the sales and promotion of formwork and shoring systems for construction. Responsible to the Director of Marketing, the qualified individual will develop means and methods for identifying and introducing new products to our client base, promote those products through trade shows and technical seminars, develop relationships with key suppliers and clients, track large jobs and assist the company’s sales force with periodic training in appropriate applications and application techniques and jobsite visits. Qualifications include a minimum of 5 years of sales and/or construction industry experience, preferably in the forming and shoring industry, interpersonal communication skills, and a proven record of time and territory management. Compensation includes a base salary plus performance bonus. Benefits include use of a company car, group medical, dental & life insurance and 401k profit sharing.

Duties include:
Evaluating new products and technologies
Promoting the company and its products at regional trade shows
Increasing awareness of the company and its formwork and shoring products by conducting regional informational seminars
Educating the company’s sales force with individual and group training
Assisting the company’s sales force in determining the proper product application on jobsites and special pricing
Tracking of large jobs, lost jobs, and competitive forces
Assist in development of targeted marketing efforts and mailings
Other duties as required
REQUIREMENTS
Skills Required:
Minimum 5 years sales and/or construction industry experience, preferably in the formwork and shoring industry
Engineering background helpful, ability to understand construction plans and specifications a must
Verbal and written communication
Computer literacy in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other Microsoft® Office products
Problem-solving and prevention
Planning, organizational and time management
Sense of personal responsibility – self-activation
