Job Title: Federal Government Solution Marking Manager #59533
Location: San Rafael, CA
General Summary: Create and drive business for Autodesk Government by creating and marketing integrated solutions in key Federal business areas, with products and technologies from all of the Autodesk divisions. This role is not responsible for the delivery of the solutions.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Integrated Solution Management Effectively works across Autodesk product lines and with divisional product management to architect and develop integrated solutions that support the go-to-market objectives in one or more key Federal business areas : Military Training and Simulation Federal Building Design and Construction Command and Control/C4I Emergency Response Manufacturing Design & Maintenance
Relevant technologies include: GIS / CAD / BIM 3D Modeling / Animation Visualization / Collaboration Database Lifecycle management of integrated solutions in accordance with best practices of whole product development, and in conjunction with existing Autodesk product/solution development process. Interfaces with sales force, end users, system integrators and the channel to obtain industry feedback and input into Federal solutions. Writes technical documents including solutions architecture, requirements, and design documents. May also create presentations, flow charts, diagrams, and other project documentation as it relates. Provides both industry and technical input to divisional product specifications in support of Federal solutions Drives internal evangelism and education around the Federal solutions Develops relationships with 3rd party developers to provide marketing leadership, integrate and promote their applications into the Federal market. Builds, maintains and manages relationships with external technical Consultants in order to tap specialized expertise as needed. Provides product and market expertise for events such as conferences, tradeshows, webinars, and seminars. Attends trade shows and conducts demos in booth. Conducts demos for solutions and products.
Solution Marketing Conducts on-going, detailed competitive analysis and market research into key Federal business areas and produces documentation regarding competitors' strengths and weaknesses as it relates to relevant solutions and products. Works closely with the Federal Campaigns manager and divisional marketing leads to plan, develop, and execute successful marketing programs, demand generation activities, marketing collateral, online content, and sales tools around Federal solutions Provides direction for industry specific advertising and collateral. Identifies new market opportunities and partners to promote Autodesk into the Federal space. Gives both public and internal marketing presentations. Participates in industry associations.
Sales Support Trains AEs on delivering solution presentations and demonstrations. Rolls out sales tool kit and provides clear information regarding demo content and script. Supports sales, RFP and proposal development within Autodesk by providing subject matter expertise. Designs training programs and teaches the sales channel how to sell the Federal Solutions. Delivers sales training and related demos to Resellers.
Requirements: 5 or more years experience in a COTS company, in technical and product management roles in 1 or more of the technology areas of GIS, CAD, BIM, or 3D graphics. Additional expertise in video or collaboration technologies also highly desirable. 8 or more years experience in the Federal marketplace as a technical lead Proven effective team contributor with the following features: clear communicator, sets priorities, and delegates authority and responsibility well. Ability to effectively navigate and operate within a matrix organization Experience managing multiple projects with aggressive deadlines Ability to drive decisions and get closure on recommendations and issues. Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit -- matched with a team player, can-do attitude Ability to work well with an extended ecosystem of direct and indirect sales/distribution channels, 3rd party developers and partners. Excellent written and oral communications skills with ability to clearly present technical solutions to large audiences Ability to travel domestically, 30% of time
Desired Knowledge/Skills: B.A./B.S. or equivalent in CS, EE, or BA preferred Current knowledge of planned programs in Federal government defense, intelligence or civilian agencies strongly desired Knowledge of Autodesk (or competitive) geospatial, modeling/simulation, design, and building information products strongly desired Broad range of marketing experience with emphasis on product planning and product introductions, but also including experience in general demand generation activities. Product Lifecycle Documentation experience is desired Secret/Top Secret clearance is desirable, but not necessary Current on PC software industry issues and emerging technologies. Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, market needs and customer requirements. Maintain awareness of new, changing and emerging technologies.
