Director, Media

The Company was established in 1928 and offers a comprehensive high-quality assortment of brand name sporting apparel and equipment at competitive prices.

Primary Responsibilities:
Builds annual Advertising Media calendar to support Marketing plan & maintains, revises throughout media plan.
Develops market & store specific media purchase plans to support Marketing calendar & local events.
Supervises the purchase of print advertising, direct marketing, television & radio including leveraging value-added promotional opportunities, when available.
Continually evaluates media performance & new options in each Market, prior to making planning decisions. Travels to meet with Field & local media, where necessary, to ensure best planning practices.
Designs and implements special test programs in specific markets. Provides measurement, feedback & recommendations for expansion based upon results.
Develops and maintains calendars to track media plans and their productivity. Communicates plans to stores.
Conducts retail market analysis with, gathers competitive information at both strategic & tactical Marketing levels (down to sku level, where relevant to planning).
Acts as main liaison between Home Office staff and Field Management for all advertising affairs, in order to develop best possible support at store/market level.
Supervises the local market events, including Grand Openings, to ensure appropriate media leverage & exposure to target customer drives maximum sales results.
Supervises direct marketing efforts, including Grand Openings, to ensure appropriate media leverage & exposure to target customer drives maximum sales results.
Maximizes advertising efficiencies via post-buy analysis & course corrections reflective of results.
Capable and accomplished at effective communication with every level in the corporate office.
Trains & develops direct reports in best practices for media buying and advertising placement.
Conducts self in profession and ethical manner with company personnel as well as with partners & outside organizations.
Performs other tasks as assigned.



PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum 7 years experience in retail marketing & advertising, to include experience with print & TV advertising and marketing events.
College degree in Business or related area.
Exceptionally organized.
Accomplished multi-tasker, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
Exhibits a high level of attention to detail.
Analytical thinker, able to translate learning and execute viable action plans in response.
