Reports to: VP, Sales & MarketingJob Summary:
The Director, Marketing & Strategic Planning is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies in support of sales efforts and overall divisional business strategy. Additionally, this position is responsible for the identification of business development opportunities and the development of business plans, pricing initiatives, and customer partnering programs. This position reports to the Vice President, Sales and Marketing, with a dotted line reporting to the President of E-Z-GO for the Strategic Planning portion of the role.Responsibilities to Include:
This position is the key Marketing business leader, specifically in the areas of Price, Product, Position and Channel Management, and is also responsible for the Strategic Planning leadership. In coordination with each business function, this position consolidates all relevant market and business data to aid the division in determining future strategic direction. Duties include:
Analyze macroeconomic and market trends, build market scenarios related to current and potential E-Z-GO products and services. Develop business plans and models based on econometric data.
Direct marketing research efforts to identify opportunities for existing, adjacent and new markets.
Assist in the development of the long-term business strategy including organic growth, acquisitive growth, and competitive position and industry dynamics. Coordinate with top management and functional areas and lead execution part of the defined business development tasks.
Represent E-Z-GO on the Textron Strategy Council.
Collaborate with Communications department to ensure effective, targeted, cost-effective promotional programs and materials including advertising, public relations, direct mail, interactive media, literature and POP materials, trades shows and events.
Create environment that encourages creativity, consistency and communication.
Set goals and objectives for business development and customer partnering according the E-Z-GO business strategy.
Develop, monitor and control the Marketing & Strategic Planning yearly budgets.
Understand market drivers of demand and sensitivities by developing relationships and maintaining open communication with key industry contacts, distributors and dealers and customers.
Responsible for the innovation process, driving new projects and develop product and market plans and technology plans (in conjunction with other related departments eg. Sales, Product Engineering and Program Management).
Responsible for preparation of the quarterly business reviews and E-Z-GO strategy updates.
Initiate and lead projects for new products and services.
Analyze, understand and recommend distribution channel options with an understanding of the cost of establishing, management and overlap.
Work with Sales and Communications management to develop and implement complete distribution channel support programs including recruitment materials, dealer manuals, and customer promotional materials.
Be a project member in Textron Six Sigma projects for new applications; initiate own projects.
Represent the company on business development activities externally and internally.
Develop M&A strategies, define and execute projects.A Textron Company
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Finance or related field required.
An MBA is required.Position Requirements:
Requires experience working within a broad range of industries designing, developing and implementing strategic business plans, as well as experience in marketing management, preferably to include dealer channels. Total required experience is 10 years.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop people.
Experience in a matrix reporting structure preferred.
Management consulting experience desirable.
Can quickly establish and maintain personal credibility and work effectively in a team environment.
Must be capable of effectively, independently, and professionally representing E-Z-GO to customers, business partners, and other external parties.
Must be able to influence and direct others without having formal authority.
Must be able to manage several projects and determine priorities in a dynamic environment.
Must be able to interact effectively with various levels of the organization.
