Director, Marketing Communications
Old Mutual Financial Network is seeking a Director, Marketing Communications responsible for developing and managing the implementation of marketing communications programs to support business unit sales and market penetration goals. The position also serves as a marketing planning and communication consultant to business units and distribution channel partners. The successful incumbent will be responsible for managing the development and implementation of marketing communication programs and projects. Partner with business units and distribution channel partners to develop marketing and communication programs to support business objectives. Manage the copy writing process and ensures that all copy is well written, legally correct, consistent with communications objectives, and reflects positively on the company. Manage the materials design process and ensures that sales and communications materials effectively support new product introductions, agent sales efforts, agent incentive programs, executive presentations, and other company-related projects; items include a variety of brochures, flyers, direct mail pieces, trade show materials, and web site elements. Alos manage, OMFN’s forms warehousing and fulfillment services to ensure accurate, on-time, cost effective distribution of marketing materials and administrative forms, while identifying and managing both internal and external resources required to develop and implement marketing communication programs. Develop improved vehicles for marketing communications, as well as manage and develop department’s human resources including mentoring, teaching, recruiting and hiring within corporate guidelines. Other responsibilties will include developing annual department budget of approximately $4 million and is accountable for managing department expenses within the approved budget.
REQUIREMENTS
The Director, Marketing Communications will require a Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is strongly preferred along with ten years progressively more responsible experience in the insurance industry with a concentration on life insurance and annuity products. Background must include a minimum of six years experience in marketing communications and three years experience in a managerial role. With a Master’s degree, six years progressively more responsible experience in the insurance industry with a concentration on life insurance and annuity products and four years experience in a managerial role. Background must include a minimum of four years experience in marketing communications.
Must have a demonstrated expertise in managing the development and execution of marketing communications and sales promotions, as well as a thorough understanding of processes and procedures for producing marketing communication materials. Strong verbal & written communication interpersonal, and organizational skills are a must. Demonstrated management and leadership abilities, including prerequisite communication skills (verbal, written, presentation. Strong creative and analytical skills and demonstrated ability for detailed work. The ability to perform in a fast-paced production environment while addressing multiple projects and responsibilities is also critical for this role.
