Database Marketing Specialist (SAS)

Duties: The Database Marketing Specialist will be part of Database Marketing Group within Symantec’s World Wide Marketing Organization. In this position, he/she will be working directly with business users from Symantec marketing, services, and other LOB to perform marketing segmentation, Ad-hoc report and advanced campaign analysis for both North America and Global Marketing. Activities include working with cross-functional teams in the planning and implementation of direct marketing programs, customer targeting and testing strategies, analysis and reporting of campaigns.
• Perform market segmentation for North America and Global Marketing.• Recommends and implements customer segmentation strategies to ensure cost efficient campaigns that reach appropriate customer target audience.• Analysis of customer & prospect data to gain deep understanding of customer segment and behaviors.• Communicate with customers on the results of their projects.• Develop and execute complex, advanced queries and selects from multiple data sources and capable of mapping and consolidating data into a single list• Provide education and training to end-users to assist in the understanding of Marketing applications, business trends and analyses.Skills: • At least 3-5 years of database marketing experience.
• Proven ability to apply segmentation and data strategy to direct marketing campaigns and achieve measurable success.• Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks• Team player. Must have excellent communication and presentation skills• Extensive experience with techniques and tools, including a high level of proficiency with relational databases and business intelligence software such as: SQL, SAS/Base, SAS/Macro, Oracle, Excel, OLAP tools and BusinessObjects.
Education: • BS. in mathematics, statistic, economics, operation research or computer sciences or equivalent.
