The position reports directly to the President and serves as a member of the College's Executive Cabinet. The primary function of this position includes developing and managing a long-range annual marketing and public relations plan that promotes the College, its programs and its enrollment management strategies. Will develop and maintain effective relationships and serve as the College's spokesperson with local, regional, state and national media. Will coordinate the design, development and printing of promotional and informational print publications.The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, communications, marketing or a related field and two to five years successful public relations experience. Two years of experience must have been at the management or supervisory level. The master's degree and public relations experience in higher education is preferred.In fall 2005 semester, Volunteer State Community College had an enrollment of 7,150 credit students and is located on a 100-acre campus in Gallatin, Tennessee, just minutes from downtown Nashville. REQUIREMENTS
