Communications & Marketing Director - TN

Job Summary
Responsible for directly communicating Division and statewide communications and marketing initiatives to the field. Develop, implement and monitor communications and marketing support strategies and activities in accordance with Division strategic business plans and state business plans. Effectively train, guide and support the field to execute the communications and marketing initiatives. Plan and implement communications and marketing activities in assigned market(s). Monitors progress of market based media relations activities of communications staff.

Responsibilities
1.Work in conjunction with the Division Communications and Marketing Department to implement Division communications and marketing initiatives to the field.
2.Work in conjunction with State Vice President and Communications and Marketing staff to develop, implement and monitor communications and marketing support activities necessary to promote and grow key ACS programs, initiatives, activities and events.
3.Provide effective training and support for field in the areas of communications and marketing such as So Glad You Asked, communications training, spokesperson training, media spokesperson, branding standards and crisis communications.
4.Provide effective training on media relations for field staff in conjunction with the Communications and Marketing Specialists.
5.Directly supervise Communications and Marketing Specialists and conduct annual goal setting and performance evaluation sessions. Coach and provide performance feedback on a regular, ongoing basis.
6.Leverage communications relationships to secure new Relay For Life teams
7.Monitor and analyze media tracking.
8.Work in conjunction with State Vice President, state leadership and Division Communications and Marketing to increase awareness of ACS programs, activities and events.
9.Monitor media alerts and communication pieces from the National Home Office and communicate to the field as appropriate.
10.Ensure timely delivery of state content for the ACS In Touch and other publications as appropriate.
11.Adhere to ACS reporting guidelines for all data and information records.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Marketing/Public Relations or five years of relevant field experience. Excellent oral and written communications skills, leadership and demonstrated ability to accomplish goals individually and through others. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software, internet based applications and computer equipment. Knowledge of desktop publishing and printing a plus. Demonstrated proficiency in media relations, training skills and strategic planning experience also required. Ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities in a positive, focused manner and remain composed under stress. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Travel required
