Communications Manager

Job Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice President, Communication, this position will help drive the creation and delivery of impactful communications to varied levels of internal and external audiences within the $2.6 billion North American Operating Division of a $12 billion global manufacturing company in the electrical/electronics industryPrimary Responsibilities and Duties
Provide both proactive and reactive communication direction and support in the development of communication strategies, and implementation of innovative internal and external campaigns that deliver corporate messages using the most effective communication methods / mediaProactively partner with internal peers and clients, management and senior management staff, etc., to develop and implement programs and tactics supporting strategic communication plans including, but not limited to, messages regarding strategic direction, thought/industry leadership positioning (corporate PR), new functional programs and corporate news, organizational announcements, special events and other internal and external communicationsEnsure effectiveness of communications by setting objectives, regularly measuring results of programs/initiatives, benchmarking studies and developing new ways to broaden the reach, both internally and externally, of company-related news and information
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree in journalism, advertising, public relations, communications, marketing or related disciplineMore than five years of experience in communications; agency experience a plusDemonstrated experience in a variety of communication disciplines including internal and external communication, public relations, speechwriting, online communication, and measurement and benchmarkingProject management/leadership experienceAbility to work at all levels of the organization and across all functions - both locally and abroadFlexibility to prioritize and manage multiple projects and changing expectationsAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team, either as leader or team memberStrong writing and editing skillsDemonstrated usage of Microsoft Office products and Lotus NotesElectronic media (Internet/intranet) technical knowledge and experienceAdditional Preferred Skills and Experience
Master's degree in journalism, advertising, public relations, communications, marketing or related disciplineInvestor Relations/Marketing background/experienceOnline writing and publishingFrench or other foreign language abilityInternational business experience
