As Category Manager, Third Party Manufacturing, you will be responsible for researching and identifying Biotech Third Party Manufacturers of drug product and drug substance. You will work closely with cross functional teams to develop supply sourcing strategies that reduce cost, ensure continuity of supply, and meet Wyeth's quality requirements. You will be responsible for contract maintenance activities to ensure amendments and letters are in place so new services are provided under contract from our established manufacturing parnters. You will ensure compliance with Wyeth's purchasing policies and procedures, ethical practices, and adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
Investigate supply market and develop an understanding of general and specific market conditions that impact your category.
Work closely with stakeholders across the Biotech Operating Unit to assure contract manufacturing services are properly contracted, under competitive commercial terms, in a timely fashion to meet commercial supply requirements.
Contribute to sourcing strategies for assigned categories that align with corporate objectives.
Develop and implement effective cost management programs to deliver year-on-year cost improvement. Develop standard costs for assigned portfolio
Perform opportunity assessments
Evaluate supply, quality and price risks, and supplier capabilities. Forecast supply vulnerabilities and implement plans to insure continuity of supply
Requirements:
B.S. or B.A. in Business or Technical discipline; M.B.A. is preferred
At least 3-5 years of experience in sourcing, manufacturing, packaging, materials management, or relevant technical discipline
Previous purchasing experience is a plus
Previous pharmaceutical industry category buyer, senior analyst or sourcing experience is preferred
Strong analytical abilities and negotiation skills
Experience in pharmaceutical aseptic fill / lyophillization / packaging operations, sourcing, or engineering is a plus
