Bioscience and Chemistry Segment Marketing Manager

SGI has recently revamped its product lineup and is looking to significantly increase revenue in the rapidly growing Chemistry and BioSciences markets. The Chemistry and BioSciences Segment Marketing Manager is a critical member of the Sciences Segment team and will be the corporate focal point and evangelist to drive SGIs expansion in the Chemistry market and entry into the BioSciences market.
This dynamic individual will be a key member of the Sciences Segment team and have the responsibility for generating leads and driving Chemistry and BioSciences revenue and growth through: Identifying combinations of applications, partnerships and products that will be successful in the marketplace these include solutions focused on computing, storage, data archival and any other critical area for the Chemistry and BioSciences market Working with Product Management, Product Engineering and Technical Services to have these solutions implemented Identifying specific customers where these will be successful and then working with SGI field and channel sales to secure sales at those accountsDefining electronic and printed collateral and sales presentations Training SGI sales and channel partners on the market and SGIs solution for the market Managing SGIs participation in highly selective user groups and industry events Evangelizing SGIs solutions with the press, at conferences, and directly with customers. This individual must be both analytical and creative so they can identify where the opportunities are and develop inventive ways to maximize SGIs results in those targeted opportunities. Travel of up to 25% will be required. REQUIREMENTS
This individual will have 5+ years of experience with computing in the BioSciences and/or Chemistry market, preferably in a hardware and/or software marketing position. This person should have a keen understanding of how computers are used to advance the development of new materials, drug discovery, genomics, proteomics, or other areas in Chemistry and BioSciences, and should be able to offer significant insights into why decisions are made to purchase one solution versus another. The successful candidate will have strong written and oral communications skills including a track record for the development and delivery of both printed and electronic material. A BS or BA degree with a sciences or computing background is strongly desired. An MBA or international business experience is advantageous. It is desirable that this individual have experience developing computational and/or storage solutions for Chemistry and/or BioSciences, and in building and managing cross-functional teams and of influencing other organizations to align their goals with his or hers.
