Advertising Specialist
Advertising Specialist Responsible for the development of monthly, quarterly and annual media planning and creative development for B2B and retail advertising across the Northeast Area. The candidate filling this position will be required to work closely with the B2B product team to accurately position advertising messaging for identified segments. Candidate will manage creative and media planning/buying agencies. Assist in planning, implementing and providing day to day budgeting, scheduling and tracking for B2B and retail advertising programs for the Northeast Area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Liaise closely with B2B Product Managers on equipment, promotions, and specifically tailored offers for each ispecified channel.
Liaise with channel Directors to understand competitive environment and appropriate positionings for VZW offerings, including accompanying sales representatives on sales calls and employee day visits. Position will need to study and understand the specific processes and competitive pressures within each channel.
Become expert at product and service offerings created especially for these channels.
Support the development of new media plans to best reach specifically defined key channel targets.
Work with agencies to plan, place and track media; conduct post buy analyses on B2B media buys.
Develop value added ideas for the media to gain more exposure for VZW with B2B prospects and key decision makers.
Support development of strategic communications plans as well as development of creative product directed to B2B prospects.
Liaise with B2B Direct Marketing and Sales Support (collateral and merchandising) Consultants to ensure fully integrated effort directed at channel segments.
Support development of monthly, quarterly and annual budget for these channels.
Manage all invoices and payments to third party agencies and vendors.
Maintain competitive tracking files for other wireless advertisers to the B2B channels, including creative, media showing and assumed spending.
Position will also handle one NEA region's mass retail efforts. This includes: promotional print and radio campaigns across all regions, as well as budget, competitive and other related items. Additionally, position will need to provide back-up for other team members in mass advertising and will need to be cross trained and generally familiar with other regions' needs and the requirements of mass retail advertising in general.
Position will support Associate Director of Mass Advertising on ad hoc projects as required, and will be expected to be knowledgeable about various media including the use of on line advertising, vertical trade publications, specialized print and radio media vehicles.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
BA or BS in Marketing, Marketing Communications or Advertising
4-6 years previous advertising experience on either agency or client side required.
Experience with B2B channel or accounts preferred.
Telcomm experience would be a plus, though not a mandatory
Demonstrated knowledge of media and creative processes/ work product
Ability to manage agency on day to day projects and processes will be crucial
Ability to work within a team or autonomously.
Ability to lead a core team, and grasp both marketing and marcomm sides of a project will be important, on occasion.
Strong problem solving and negotiation skills.
Strong computer skills, ability to create spreadsheets, powerpoint presentations, other tracking and analysis documents.
Innovative mindset and ability to initiate is important.
Candidate should be comfortable with presentations, both one on one and to groups.
Other Remarks:
Occasional long work hours required. When on deadlines, this position will need to be flexible to work late to support short turnarounds and tight timetables. Ability to adapt to change and respond to new direction with a sense of urgency will be important. High energy, personal enthusiasm and desire to create leadership advertising also important, as well as the ability to differentiate between an ordinary advertising product and true leadership advertising. The successful candidate will be motivated to reach a high level of achievement via standard and out of the box techniques and programs. Desire to win in the marketplace a must. Flawless written and oral communication skills required.
