Classified Advertising Manager (Real Estate and Automotive)
The Tribune, a 40,000 circulation newspaper in San Luis Obispo, CA is looking for a Classified Advertising Manager to direct our sales and support staff responsible for local real estate and automotive print and online advertising sales in San Luis Obispo County and Santa Maria areas. The successful candidate will possess ambition, contract negotiation skills, strong sales and coaching skills, a talent for strategic thinking, and an interest in developing his or her career in the newspaper industry. Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must. Bachelor's degree required. Five or more years of newspaper/commercial field selling; demonstrated job progression including a minimum of two years supervisory experience, preferably in newspapers. Strong understanding and knowledge of selling techniques, promotion, marketing and budgeting. Demonstrated successful experience training, public speaking and report writing. Experience in print media sales and radio/TV a plus. Must be proficient with Excel, Powerpoint, and Word.
