Wafer Production Technician

Purpose: An electronics company is seeking Wafer Operators. Several openings are available.

SUMMARY
Responsible for operating and monitoring wafer fabrication and characterization equipment including wafer electrical measurement tools, Wet sinks, and Chemical Etch tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs specified calibration, qualification, and maintenance activities.
Maintains written and computerized records.
Documents product movement using the computerized production tracking system.
Participates in and contributes to yield, cycle time, and process improvement activities and observes all safety requirements.
Performs these and other duties as required and as directed by the shift supervisor to produce high quality products efficiently and at the lowest cost possible.
Ability to analyze data, solve problems and provide technical support.
Basic understanding of software applications; particularly Microsoft Office, e-mail, spreadsheets, and data bases.
Maintains a moderate degree of ability to prioritize, prepare, and plan the following: Daily Work, Manager's time.
Uses various chemicals to clean equipment.
Uses wafer wand to handle GaAs wafers.
Visually inspects and interprets patterns upon microscope inspection and implants wafers using microscope.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent 0 - 2 years of experience
AA degree or equivalent required to be hired and/or promoted into certain positions
Degree in a technical area is highly preferred
Wafer Fab experience is a plus
Experience using a personal computer is desirable
Ability to read and write English

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Classification:Contract-to-HireCompensation:
