Our industry-focused recruiters recognize your talent, know how to market your unique skills and can help you secure employment with these very selective corporations.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Establish goals and priorities to achieve departmental Master Schedule objectives. Objectives include allocating resources to maximize employee safety, quality and productivity.
Partner with the UAW for performance coaching, grievance disposition,and personnel adjustments.Develop departmental objectives and give quarterly/annual performance reviews for salaried personnel.Improve process effectiveness by encouraging personnel to participate in work groups and help with the implementation of new ideas in areas of safety, ergonomics and cost savings.
Champion SHARP element in designated production area.Monitor and control material cost to budgeted level.
Develop and execute production plans to meet customer demands for Fabrication Products.
Conduct departmental meetings to communicate safety, quality, and productivity measurables.
Support all initiatives of the plant leadership team including Safety, Quality, Production, Engineering and Ergonomics.Review, plan and implement training programs for production personnel, working with the local training committee to provide technical, safety and quality training.
Function as an agent of change in driving process improvements throughout entire department.
Mentor and develop subordinates through goal setting, motivation, and guidance to meet both short and long term business objectives.-
YEARS EXPERIENCE:5 to 10 years experience in Fabrication Glass Operations and or Float Glass OperationsDEGREE STRONGLY PREFERRED:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred.DESIRED COMPETENCIES/EXPERIENCE: Customer focused with a good understanding of quality processes.
Familiarity with SFR, TEM, and lean manufacturing disciplines and requirements.
Basic knowledge of statistics and process capability. Six Sigma experience preferred.
Strong negotiation skills as well as communication skills both oral and written.
Proficient computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
Willingness to work as necessary to complete job requirements.
Familiarity with project management disciplines preferred.
