Shift Superintendent - Process

Under the direction of the Process Department Manager, this position, while working on one of 3 rotating shifts, assured the efficient and economical refining of raw sugar and the production of white, soft, confectioners and liquid sugars according to established standards. This position is responsible for supervising a workforce of 20-30 hourly employees, directing all activities to include the entire refining process of cane sugar, the receipt of liquid materials, assuring that quality standards are adhered to, the usage of energy (fuel and steam), water, air and electric power and most importantly the safe operation of equipment through participation in the facility safety program.

The position also assists in union grievance resolution, performance feedback including coaching and counseling of employees.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will have 3+ years in a direct supervisory capacity in a manufacturing or refining operation, preferably in the cane sugar refining business, a 2 or 4 year degree in Business Management or other related degree, and a solid work record.
