Field Support Rep

Job Description:
We are seeking a creative individual to support Caterpillar information technology products. This individual would primarily educate and support Cat dealers on the product support aspects of IPSD products (i.e., CAES, AccuGrade, Minestar, Aquila, Product Link, Equipment Manager). These information products are primarily used in Construction and Mining applications. Key job performance characteristics include initiative, high energy, planning and organizational skills, demonstrated oral and written communications, solid work standards, problem solving capability, and sound technical knowledge.
The position requires frequent travel (50%) to Cat dealer and end user sites primarily within North America and occasionally outside of North America. The candidate would provide support and assistance to the Caterpillar dealer to manage system installations, commissioning, training, and support of all IPSD products. Support of these products with the end user is primarily provided through the traditional Cat dealer/MPC relationship, however direct end user interface from Caterpillar is an option in specific situations.
The incumbent would be responsible for a territory covering multiple Cat dealers and end user job sites.
REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or IT with a focus on GPS/GIS technology or equivalent job related experience. The position generally requires several years of experience in the wireless, information technology, machine control, etc., industry. The incumbent must have excellent organizational, communication, and customer interface skills. The position requires self-starter with a unique combination of technical training and dealer support skills. Leadership skills and Caterpillar dealer experience are highly desired. Knowledge of P.C. Applications, CAD based design software, Wired and Wireless Networks, Databases, and Troubleshooting skills are desired.
