***THE IDEAL CANDIDATE***Advanced degree from a top tier graduate school. (Masters in Occupational Health and Safety preferred)Resume that shows steady progression in Safety Management for the last 5 -7 years.Professionally Board Certified in SafetyExperience in a VPP site or developing a VPP programStrong ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concernsStrong evidence of stretch assignments that are evidence of superior performance in previous roles. 5-7 years experience in Fortune 500 companies that adhere to a high hiring standard that equals Amazon.com and mentors their brightest employees to accept greater challenges. Ambitious. Wants to join an Operations team as a Site Safety Manager and grow with the company, whether that is to a role in Operations Management, Corporate Safety or into a Regional Operations leadership role.



The Site Safety Manager is an active member of the Operations team, driving and supporting cross-group initiatives and is accountable for all Safety functions within the facility.



Responsibilities:



Ensure compliance to federal and state law as it applies to Life Safety, Lockout Tagout, Fall Protection, Fire Prevention, Emergency Procedures and Evacuation, and other programs as described in 29 CFR.

Develop prevention programs impacting accident trends and conduct job hazard analyses, job safety analyses.

Develop, implement, and maintain critical safety training such as Powered Industrial Trucks and ergonomic programs to meet the needs of managers and associates.

Accurately report daily metrics to management team.

Maintain required paperwork such as OSHA 300 logs in compliance with federal law.

Develop a positive working relationship with local the Fire Marshal, OSHA, and other state and local authorities as needed.

Build management and employee commitment for a Safety program through influence not authority! Review SOP changes and make safety recommendations.

Managing and develop a multiple shift safety support team.



Additional skills and flexibility required:

Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment and customer focused skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Candidates must be flexible regarding shifts.

Effective presentation, and persuasion skills are a must. REQUIREMENTS


Education and experience required:BS/BA (preferably in a business or safety/security related area) is REQUIREDMinimum 5 years of work experience preferably in a Safety roleExperience with OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910Retail-Distribution Center Safety with 250 or more hourly employees and some exemptAbility to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy Desire to thrive in a dynamic, growing environment personnel. Professionally Board Certified in Safety preferredExperience in a VPP site or developing a VPP program preferred
