As Scholle pursues its vision to continuously develop new products in the packaging industry, we seek innovative individuals willing to contribute to the company's growth and potential for a strong future.We are currently seeking a SAFETY COORDINATORYou will perform safety and health activities at our Northlake facility to evaluate and control environmental hazards.Responsibilities Include:Provide hands-on approach to assessing, developing, improving and implementing safety programs and systems.Understand our processes and develop relationships with hourly and salary personnel.Coordinate and implement safety initiatives and activities including, but not limited to, hearing tests, safety shoe truck, etc…Lead injury investigation teams, submit injury and illness reports, manage the workers’ compensation system and perform appropriate follow-up actions.Supports and assists in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, insurance investigations, and safety incidents.Obtain and assists in obtaining environmental permits or other government regulatory approvals or licenses.Perform annual review of safety programs and systems.Perform or assist in training employees on safety and health requirements (including HazComm, LOTO Forklift, Evacuation Drills, etc…) to ensure compliance to facility safety rules and procedures.Evaluate emergency action plans, assist in coordinating evacuation drills and update the plan, asnecessary.Issue and monitor hot work permits and confined space entries.Assist with the environmental management systems.Provide leadership for the plant (contracted) security personnel.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree (BS in Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Technology, or Environmental Engineering degree is preferred) and a minimum of three years related experience. Must have excellent analytical and communications skills.
