Refinery Operator Trainee

Requirements for Operator Trainee positions include but are not limited to, on-the-job and classroom training, rotating 12-hour shifts (weekends and holidays in a 24/7 operation), operate equipment by manual, computer or instrument control to maintain process temperatures, pressures and flow rates. Applicant must be able to work at elevated heights and climb ladders and stairs. These are often located on towers and columns in refinery Operating areas.
REQUIREMENTS
The minimum criteria for this position are:
High School diploma or GED
Valid California Driver’s License
It is preferred that individuals have one or both of the following.1.) Previous experience in an industrial operations setting such asrefining, chemical, manufacturing or military environment.
2.) An AS degree or certificate from a school in one or more of thefollowing disciplines: Sciences, (chemistry, physics, etc.), ComputerScience, Information Systems or Business Administration
Applicants must pass written and computer tests and participate in personalinterviews. Job offers are provided, contingent upon a pre-employmentmedical examination, a drug screening, a background security check andproof of eligibility to work in the United States. In addition a physicalexamination and evaluation is required.
Starting pay is $23.07 USD per hour. Trainees will be placed in a three year training program with periodic increases if they successfully progress through the program to attain fully qualified operator status.
