RAMP AGENT

Purpose: Job Description: Ramp Agent duties include: the loading and unloading of baggage, mail and/or cargo; operation of motorized vehicle, directing aircraft to and from gates; catering and cleaning of aircrafts; lavatory service and operating ground equipment; and, all other operations which may be required with respect to the position.



Summary of Qualifications:

- Clear understanding of company?s guiding principles: Safety, Courtesy, Pride, Teamwork and Innovation

- Must be 18 years of age

- Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship

- Positive attitude and professional appearance

- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime

- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening

- Successfully pass a FBI criminal background check

- Successfully pass a Human Performance Evaluation Assessment

- Ability to provide 5 years of employment, education, prove of unemployment history

- Valid CA driver?s license with no more than 2 moving violations

- Excellent work ethic and demonstrated ability to act with a purpose and urgency under time constraints

- In good physical condition ? able to lift and move items up to 70 lbs repetitively, and to climb, bend, kneel, crawl and stoop on a frequent basis

- Must be able to work in a space constricted area daily

- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions



Training:

The Ramp Agent training program is conducted at our training center and consists of 50% classroom learning and 50% on-the-job training. During the training period candidates will earn the amount of $6.75/hr. After the two week training course the rate will be $9/hr upon graduation. (Could possibly go to $10/hr in the next week or so) Candidates will graduate from training so long that the following requirements have been met:



- Successful completion of all testing and daily appearance checks ? 85% or better on all tests

- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen

- Successful completion of criminal and background investigation



Work Schedule:

This is a scheduler passenger company that operates 365 days a year. Our Crew Members must be prepared to work any assigned shift, which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays; after completion of the first year of employment workers will be able to collect regular holiday pay. Shifts are bid periodically, and are awarded based on seniority. In addition, Ramp Agents must be prepared to work extended shifts due to operational needs.
