Quality Inspector III

Position Overview:
As Quality Inspector III, you will inspect and test purchased or manufactured materials, parts and/or assemblies in order to determine acceptability based upon conformance to specifications and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:
Interfacing with both the Quality Engineering and Purchasing Departments, you will complete first article inspections, evaluate and reprocess nonconforming production materials and generate and maintain inspection records and reports per written procedures or instructions. You will also initiate material review of defective materials, components and assemblies.

With supervision, you will be responsible to select, set up and use precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, comparator, thread and plug gages, coordinate measurement machine and specialized fixtures/gauges to verify physical dimensions and properties per written procedures or instructions. You will also use multimeters, voltmeters and specialized fixtures to verify electrical parameters and function.

A High School Diploma or equivalent with courses in Algebra and Geometry along with demonstrated manufacturing experience is required, electronics manufacturing preferred. Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning, tolerancing, measurement methodology, electronic component identification and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is also necessary. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to interface well with others and to constructively resolve conflicts. Must be able to lift and move 30 pounds. IPC-610 certification is a plus.
