Quality Control Tech

Purpose: This Englewood based medical device company is currently seeking 2 Quality Control Technicians.

Essential Functions:
- Inspects incoming materials, reviewing for accuracy of shipment, documentation the acceptability of raw material components; stocks items in appropriate location and records location according to procedure.
- Perform the process for receiving, and inspection of product that has been sterilized by the sterilization contractor.
- PRODUCTIVITY: Meets personal and team expectations for productivity. Participates in events or other process changes designed to improve productivity. Has and applies proficient skills and knowledge for all functions within the trained areas.
- QUALITY: Inspect raw material components and inspection of product from sterilizer according to procedures, quality manual and other company guidelines to ensure accurate inventory. Identifies and, if possible, corrects non-conforming parts or materials.
- TEAMWORK/COMMUNICATION: Job is performed in an interdependent team setting. Works with co-workers to solve problems and make improvements in processes. Treats others with dignity, respect and consideration.
- SAFETY: Follows all safety guidelines for the department and completes tasks in a safe manner.

Duties/Responsibilities to Accomplish Essential Functions:
- Perform daily inspection activities, keeping pace with incoming freight schedule of sterile loads
- Follow instructions by supervisor or manager regarding priorities, work schedule and other assignments including cross training or working in other departments.
- Assist other departments such as engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and to coordinate receiving processes.
- Follow all applicable policies, procedures, and drawings for accuracy and quality.
- Record all inventory transactions accurately through computer system and/or other required methods.
- Participates in training activities to develop, maintain and improve job skills.
- Identify and suggest areas of improvement to strive towards a continuous quality improvement organization; participate in events and other improvement activities.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following good housekeeping and company guidelines for safety; ability to use tools and equipment safely.
- Implement Lean Production methods such as flow production, Kanbans, Just-In-Time, visual controls, and other methods to minimize product cost; work continuously to improve established metrics.

Job Qualifications:
- Must have knowledge of the proper use of pallet jacks.
- Must have ability to use calibrated tools for inspection of materials.
- Must support release of sterilized finished goods product to stock.
- Must have fine motor skills and manual dexterity to inspect, calibrate and/or manipulate small components.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Must have basic computer skills to regularly access and document information in computer.
- Must have basic written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members, understand verbal instructions, and read and comprehend written work instructions including words and engineering drawings.
- Must have the ability to organize and prioritize tasks independently.
- Must have visual acuity to distinguish colors and recognize non-conforming parts.
- Must have ability to work as a member of a team.
- Train new or other associates-manufacturing processes and quality documents

Experience/Education or Formal Training:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred in a warehouse space.
- General knowledge of ISO, CE/UL, and FDA audits
- 2 years Quality Control experience preferred.

This position is a direct placement. Candidate will train on 1st shift 6AM - 3:30PM then will move to 2nd shift 3:30PM - 2AM. Pay is $14 per hour.
