Quality Assurance Manager - Dairy Products

Growing dairy manufacturer is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager

Responsibilities:
Supervise the QC/QA functions at the plant. Provide team leadership, coaching, and technical assistance to the QC/QA laboratory employees. Conduct training and effectively communicate with other teams to ensure the plant, contract manufacturers, packaging and raw material vendors, and the products they produce and distribute meet corporate, consumer, and regulatory requirements.

Duties & Accountabilities:
* Supervises lab employees including overtime scheduling and coverage, time-off approvals, documentation and resolution of disciplinary issues.
* Develop and implement statistical training modules to improve plant employee understanding of the subject. Six Sigma involvement.
* Implement and monitor problem solving and continuous improvement efforts including rollout and training.
* Coordinate ISO certification efforts.
* Ensures incident reports are completed and appropriate corrective actions have been taken.
* Provide necessary support for plant validations, start-ups, and product development projects.
* Coordinates HACCP program for the plant.
* Reviews and approves packaging specifications
* Coordinates plant GMP internal auditing and training program.
* Provides technical support to the QA/QC lab team.
* Conducts vendor audits.
* Conducts work instruction training and other Quality enhancement training sessions plant-wide.
* Assists in identification and development of Quality systems for the plant to ensure compliance to corporate policies and procedures
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
* A B.S. in Food Science, Chemistry, or related technical discipline is required.
* Three or more years of Quality Assurance management experience in the dairy manufacturing industry.
* Strong team leadership skills.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively with vendors, customers, other functional groups, senior management, and third parties in a professional manner.
* Proven ability to deliver results on key strategic initiatives
