Production Worker (Kitter)

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Maintain a clean and organized work area per Company Housekeeping Standards. Observe OSHA safety rules and regulations and Company Safety Standards on a continuous basis. Capable of reading blueprints, layouts, instruction sheets to produce kits which meet customer requirements. Must be able to accurately read blueprints/layouts to specifications. Must be able to read, interpret written and visual instructions, apply adjustments and minor repairs. Perform all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS


Education: Requires the ability to read blueprints, proper use of measuring instruments, apply blueprints to cutting out kit patterns. Must be proficient in math, measurements, and calculations and apply detail to close standards. High school or GED.

Experience: Must have two plus years of carpentry. Proficient and safe use of table saw, circular saw, band saw, and various wood working equipment and processes. Must be able to read, interpret written and visual instructions and apply to job.

Initiative & Ingenuity: Ability to translate blueprint/layouts and develop pattern kits. Works to close tolerances. Is a craftsman which creates complex kit designs by hand. Must understand spatial relationships.

Physical Demands: Lift minimum of 45 pounds. Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and twisting is required.

Mental & Visual Demands: Continuous and close attention to detail is required to insure kits are created within rigid specifications. Vision must be 20/20 corrected. Must be able to make calculations from blueprints and convert metric measurements to English. Knowledcge and visual demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Responsibility for Equipment or Process: Keep area clean and perform any and all required preventive maintenance associated with the area and equipment assigned. Insure all safety equipment is in place when operating power saws.

Responsibility Safety of Others: Adherence to lockout/tag out requirements, all plant safety/OSHA guidelines, and standard housekeeping guidelines. Operate the equipment making sure the proper barriers are in place to protect self and fellow associates from injury.

Responsibility Work of Others: Responsible for participating in a team environment to meet customer expectations. Work closely with quality, engineering, maintenance, and production on maintaining high quality, implementation of new products, and continuous improvement. Work closely with maintenance to make needed repairs or replacement of worn parts. All other requirements deemed necessary to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Working Environment: Exposure to fiberglass, fiberglass bonding agents, and dust. Kitter job will create dust. Proper dust collection devises and protection is required. Agents described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the routine functions of this job.

Hazards: Exposed to heavy lifting devises, rotating cutting blades, rotating material, and sharp hand tools.
