Production Support Engineer

Currently, Oakwood seeks a Production Support Engineer for its office in Los Angeles, CA.POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for initial site installs, deploy updates, maintenance tasks and monitoring of site status in Production and QA environments application programs in a primarily .NET applications and Java web server Portal, MS SQL server environment. Production Support Engineer is part of a tier 2 production support team that is responsible for the operations of the complex multi-tier production systems including the for .Net and Java web , MS SQL Server 2003/2005, MS reporting services, and custom business applications.DUTIES:
Perform site installs, updates, maintenance tasks and monitor of site status in Production, Integration and QA environments in a primarily .NET applications and Java production web server Portal in a MS SQL Server environment.
Manage on-call schedule and escalation for production support. Communicate site outages (planned or unplanned).
Responsible for multi-tier large-scale production environment management principles, methodologies, tools, and trends, including 7x24 data center environment management.
Monitor usage of all systems and compliance to SLA related outages and communicate to compliance and technology. Manage production outage and escalation process.
Responsible for servers' configuration and setup rules, methods and techniques; servers' maintenance and management, operating systems such as Windows Advanced Server.
Ensure principles, methodologies and techniques of SQL Server, BizTalk, MS Reporting Services, IIS, Java, JBoss, Tomcat.
Ensure operational principles and practices of the computer, network, data center and storage operations and management and business continuity are in place and upheld.
Provide reporting and trending on items monitored by production support.
Work closely with the Development, Network Administration, Database Administration teams for tuning and configuration management, evaluating new information, trends, tools and technologies in the IT production systems management.
Coordinate rotational 24x7 first point of contact for production website and application support.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS:
BS in Computer Science, Or related work experience2 yrs working within a production support operation
2 yrs experience with Windows Advanced Server, IIS, load balancing MS SQL Server 2003 & 2005, .Net 1.1 & 2.0, JBoss, Tocat and LifeRay
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience production Monitoring and performance tools
BizTalk 2004 and 2006 is a big plus
