Will supervise largely an assembly area on second shift, which is about 25-30 nonunion hourly. Will coordinate schedules for production with day shift mgmt and be responsible for change-overs from one product to another. Will apply lean manufacturing methods (will be mentored in methods not familiar with) such as theory of constraints, kaizen, takt time, etc. Position offers excellent visibility for promotional opportunities. Must be willing to move to day shift at some time. Coordinate production schedule with previous and following shift supervisors, as well as maintenance dept, to ensure production goals levels are maintained. This operation has been growing even in the last 3-4 years when other operations have been either cutting back or lucky to maintain a status quo. Company is looking for a supervisor with good leadership and motivation skills. Someone who can bring the best out of production personnel. Someone who can build a team. Company has successfully been applying lean mfg methods and six sigma but still has work to do. SALARY: $47,000 to $53,000 plus overtime and bonus = ~$52,000 to $58,000.
REQUIREMENTS: BS or BA degree with at least 2 years supervisory experience in a product assembly environment. Must have solid experience dealing with assembly processes and some lean manufacturing methods. Strongly prefer some experience with sheet metal fabrication. Demonstrate a track record of being motivator and a leader in some way. Must be US Citizen or a permanent resident.
