Directly supervise one or several production areas. Support corporate net sales objectives by striving to continually meet or exceed company schedule attainment and productivity goals while maintaining superior product quality, safety and employee relations.Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Assure that hourly employees are doing timely labor confirmations as required in their production area(s). Monitor workcenter priority reports and ensure confirmations are kept up to date. Direct supervision of hourly production employees. Monitor work performance issues, maintain appropriate records, prepare and conduct attendance and work performance reprimands. Prepare and conduct team leader performance reviews and probationary reviews. Answer daily inquiries and assist in solving shop floor problems. Address non-performance situations effectively. Achieve productivity goals and make necessary manpower adjustments to capture productivity project savings. Support procedures as defined by the MM group to ensure inventory is properly managed and kept accurate. Organize and implement the daily production plan for the respective area of responsibility. Monitor production hour variances and make adjustments to execute the schedule. Communicate manpower and efficiency changes of critical work centers and monitor daily execution against the plan to determine capacity changes (OT or manpower transfers) required to execute the schedule. Coordinate the availability of parts and raw materials to ensure production delays do not occur. Or work with the materials specialists/materials supervisors to coordinate delivery of parts to the line in a manner that optimizes production output. Ensure safety practices are executed, including the wearing of the protective equipment by area personnel when appropriate. Maintain work areas to meet or exceed company 5S+1 and safety standards. Address quality, material availability, or process problems by coordination and communication with the appropriate functions via continuous improvement and corrective action programs. Manage, in a coordinated manner with other production supervisors, schedulers and managers, to minimize overtime costs and meet on-time schedule attainment goals. Coordinate with maintenance personnel the upkeep and repair of tools and machinery to maximize operating capacity and longevity. Maintain good working knowledge of current labor agreement and applicable government regulations. Assure that manpower is thoroughly trained and properly assigned on a daily basis. REQUIREMENTS
2 or 4 year college or technical school degree required. SAP experience preferred but not required. GPS training preferred but not required. 3 through 5 years of work experience is required. Some analytical ability required.
