Production Supervisor (2nd Shift)

Purpose: A large company in Elgin, IL is looking for experienced (2-5 years) production supervisors to facilitate the operational efficiencies of their manufacturing facility, drive best-in-class business practices and lead through example to establish a culture of continuous improvement in a safe working environment.

***JIT Experience is a great plus***

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
-Active involvement in continuous improvement initiatives
-Responsibility for the management of scheduling and shop floor accuracy
-Co-ordinate labor and materials per schedule
-Ability to develop and analyze processes for improvement
-Standardization conformance and benchmarking
-Workers rehabilitation and return to work duties
-Material flow management including sequencing and Kan ban replenishment

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
-Problem solving capabilities
-Proven leadership & communication abilities
-Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
-Time management and resource planning/management
-Familiarity with job-shop production management techniques
-Demonstrable literacy with respect to interpretation of specification & working drawings for structural applications
-Computer skills a plus; including Baan, MS Office

EDUCATION:
-Three to five + years experience in a structured manufacturing environment with a 2 to 4 year degree in Business/Finance/Engineering.
-HR and team building experience desirable.
-Good people relationship and management skills essential.
