JOB DESCRIPTION:Our client is a well known and respected international consumer goods manufacturer.

In this search we're looking for an experienced Process Improvement Enginer, preferrably a Black Belt to champion the identification, definition, development, evaluation, implementation and support of technologies and processes that optimize manufacturing operations.

Title: Process Improvement Engineer
Six Sigma Black Belt
Basic Function
Provide project leadership/subject matter expertise on major process improvement initiatives throughout the plant. Investigate new and leading-edge approaches to process improvement. Identify and evaluate the feasibility of new technological developments and best practices for applicability in operations.
Scope
The Process Improvement Engineer reports directly to the Director, Process Improvement. The incumbent will collaborate with plant and Divisional leadership across all functional areas as they are impacted by manufacturing and business improvement activities.Accountabilities
§ Champion the identification, definition, development, evaluation, implementation and support of technologies that improve manufacturing execution.
§ Serves as a thought leader and steward in the import/design of proactive productivity optimization activities.
§ Serves as a thought leader and steward in the import/design of proactive quality yield improvement activities.
§ Serves as a thought leader and steward in the import/design of proactive business improvement and cost efficiency activities.
§ Serves as a technical consultant to the line organization in developing and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
§ Leverage continuous improvement expertise to drive step change and support incremental change efforts.
§ Provide project management oversight for selected projects.
§ Lead, facilitate and coach change initiatives.
§ Provide developmental guidance and coaching to frontline leadership on process improvement issues.
§ Provide consulting assistance in the proper application of specific analytical tools and techniques, which may include data gathering, research development, data analysis and process mapping.
§ Analyze, identify, recommend and implement methods to reduce waste, rework, inefficiencies and non-value added activities.Requirements
§ 10+ years of related work experience and/or equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
§ Minimum educational requirements; B.S. and/or M.S. in a related field.
§ Proven experience in industrial engineering or project management.
§ Six Sigma Black Belt and/or Lean Manufacturing Certification preferred.
§ Proven strong process orientation and process improvement skills.
§ Proven expertise in continuous improvement methods and processes and ability to apply the methodology in solving process challenges.
§ Demonstrated ability to teach and apply continuous improvement tools.
§ Understanding, knowledge and aptitude to grasp improvement methodologies and techniques and their potential feasibility for Glatfelter applications.
§ Demonstrated strong business acumen.
§ Excellent computer skills.
§ Strong interpersonal, facilitation and communication skills, including motivational speaking and training; ability to influence at different levels as well as a range of personalities; strong listening ability; cooperative, team play orientation.
§ Hands-on leadership skills, including leadership of cross-functional teams; ability to serve as a change agent.
§ Willingness to be readily available for extended shop floor consultation with operations leadership.
