Operations Supervisor
SUMMARY
The incumbent is responsible for managing the daily operations of an account within the Dedicated Contract Services division, which includes maintaining revenue generation, safety, equipment maintenance, payroll and billing, and ensuring Customer Value Delivery™.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
1.Dispatching and supervising one or more fleets of drivers safely, efficiently and legally.
2.Plan or pre-plan the delivery of freight to ensure on-time service for the customer.
3.Manage asset utilization to ensure maximum efficiency as driven by customer needs.
4.Coordinate with maintenance support personnel to manage service of all account equipment while maintaining customer-driven service expectations.
5.Process and audit payroll for drivers to ensure accurate and timely payroll.
6.Complete weekly invoicing.
7.Ensure that all drivers are in compliance with safety department and DOT regulations and promote the company safety culture. This includes but is not limited to conducting 90 day reviews, reviewing accidents and incidents on a timely basis, ensuring drivers are in log compliance and updating driver files in a timely manner.
8.Communicate status of loads, location of drivers and equipment, and other service level information to account management personnel and customers.
9.Conduct and manage company-mandated and account-specific employee meetings.
10.Participate in financial analysis as it relates to specific account profit-and-loss statements.
11.Implement and evaluate account-specific driver retention initiatives.
12.Develop and implement cost reduction measures, ensuring maximum profitability and cost-minimization.
13.Participate in all facets of Customer Value Delivery including but not limited to: maintaining Key Performance Indicators and the Customer Relationship Management Database, as well as involvement in Mid-year Business Reviews and Annual Account Assessments.
14.Able to travel as deemed necessary by regional management.
15.Perform pertinent account-specific duties as required by customer.
16.Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct supervision of driver fleet(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Incumbent must be able to handle a fast-paced, stressful work environment and be on-call as needed by account operations. Transportation experience and the ability to work flexible hours are highly desirable. Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to perform the duties of this position.

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree with one year relevant work experience; or three years direct management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Day shift position, but must be willing to work differnt days of the week (for example Mon-Fri or Tues- Sat or Wed-Sun.)
