Operations / Manufacturing Engineering Lead

Area of Accountability:

Oversee, plan, organize and coordinate all Production/Mfg Engineering activities in support of Corporate and Divisional requirements. Manage all inputs to the manufacturing process to enable Business Unit to ship high quality product, on time and at the lowest cost.

Major Responsibilities:
-Apply the BU Principals (Trust, Flow, Simplify, Focus, Empower, & MRD)
-Supervise plant work force.
-Responsible for Quality Assurance system implementation and maintenance.
-Design and supervise the build of all manufacturing tooling, work center layout, material flow, and lean implementation / maintenance.
-Develop capacity and contingency plans.
-Manage all manufacturing processes / operations and achieve stated performance goals in on-time delivery, lead times, manufacturing costs, safety, quality, and housekeeping.
-Coordinate preventative maintenance of equipment and building.
-Assist employees in continuous improvement projects.
-Monitor the plant production scheduling functions including master production scheduling and shop floor scheduling to balance workload and available labor.
-Work with Supply Chain group to control plant inventory to optimize turnover and minimize investment. Monitor safety stock levels to ensure customer delivery requirements are achievable.
-Organize and implement MRD material replenishment system. Ensure all work center layouts support MRD activities.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree in a related field
-Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, and time management.
-Self-starter, conscientious, enthusiastic with a positive attitude.
-Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
-3 to 5 years of progressive supervision experience in manufacturing and/or Mfg Engineering.
-Good computer skills (Microsoft Office, Intranet, etc.)
-Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
