Occupational Health Nurse

Plans, directs, coordinates and/or provides a comprehensive health care program that involves prevention, recognition and treatment of illness and injury. Responsible for establishing policy and directing, administering and evaluating an occupational and environmental health service consistent with the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses scope of practice, State and Federal rules and regulations and organizational goals.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·Plan, develop and promote the necessary resources to operate the occupational health service.
·Prepare, maintain and safeguard confidentiality of employee health information and health records.
·Perform pre-placement and periodic physical exams which include blood draw, , hearing test, pulmonary test, eye exam, and physical history with weight, height and blood pressure. Responsible for drug-free workplace policy and out-sourcing of drug testing, to include: pre-employment, random, post-accident and for cause drug screening.
·Provide emergency first aid and care and arrange for treatment of occupational injuries and disease by a physician if necessary.
·Provide emergency care for non-occupational conditions that occur during work hours. Screen employees before leaving work because of illness and on return following illness.
·Perform all mandatory OSHA hearing and pulmonary function testing on an annual basis.
·Monitors the budget that provides for efficient and cost effective occupational health services, including vendor service.
·Develop, administer and maintain health program policies that are consistent with American Association of Occupational Health Nurse standards and company policies.
·Develop and provide occupational and personal health information to all Associates.
REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of accredited Nursing Program
5 years critical care experience required.
Registered Nurse with license to practice in Georgia required.
Certification in CPR and AED required.
Certification in occupational health preferred.
Certification in Hearing Conservation preferred
Certified Spirometry technician preferred.
