Model Maker - 2nd Shift

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fabricate and verify prototype and non-standard semi-finished devices, using information in the form of hand sketches, drawings or through verbal input provided by designers and engineers, by operating standard and sophisticated shop equipment.


POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Light fabrication of prototype and non-standard semi-finished medical devices.
•Set up and operate various pieces of shop equipment as required to complete assigned job requests.
•Work closely with Engineers and Designers to insure accuracy and timely completion of job requests.
•Follow all safety requirements in the performance of assigned tasks.
•Effectively communicate ideas/concepts verbally or in sketch form.
•Properly employ all safety and Synthes SOPs, Work Instructions, Training Guides, and Forms in the performance of tasks.
•Maintain a work environment that provides open communication.
•Be an extremely flexible team player, adaptable to change.
•Be customer service oriented and experienced at interaction on all levels of engineering professionals.
•Miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Prototype Shop Manager and Supervisors.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
•Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields a plus.
•Apprenticeship highly desirable.
•Six to eight years verifiable job experience as a machinist or toolmaker.
•Programming with working knowledge of CNC equipment (lathes, mills, wire)
•CAD/CAM experience, MasterCAM preferred.
•Working knowledge of current safety requirements.
•Medical Device experience desirable.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.).
