Mechanical Engineer/Designer

CGI, Inc. is a leading O.E.M. of motion control products; primarily planetary gearheads, custom gearboxes and geared components. CGI, Inc. is currently seeking a qualified individual for the following position:

Mechanical Engineer / Designer
Full Time Position;

Description:
Individual will be responsible for the following;
- Design, develop and improve new or existing products.
- Direct the manufacture and testing of prototypes.
- Interface within the organization regarding ideas, drawings and products as well as external contacts with customers and vendors in the development of designs.
- Design electronic or mechanical prototypes of test equipment (order parts and equipment as required, complete documentation regarding applications, repair etc.)
- Prepare preliminary and detailed part / design drawings, layouts and schematics and direct the work of drafters and technicians as required.
- Occasional reviewing of customer orders and preparing of bills of materials.
- Selection of materials, components and development of specs for products.
REQUIREMENTS


Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering education. Individual must have proven experience with mechanical design and be proficient with AutoCAD and SolidWorks design software. Knowledge of gear design, electric motors and motion control is desired. Position requires knowledge of mfg. processes, materials, capabilities and design for manufacturing. A minimum of 5 years related experience is desired.
