Master Planner

Leads planning group to better utilize MRP/ERP tools to most efficiently accomplish planning function. Takes an ownership role in the implementation of new software tools. Evaluates current methods and leads improvements in these methods to meet the needs of the internal and external customer.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Leads the overall direction for the planning group in the use of MRP / ERP functionality to drive achievable schedules that satisfy customer service and planned inventory levels.
2. Plans and schedules assigned products to meet customer service level and planned inventory objectives.
3. Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training and evaluating team members; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
4. Measures, monitors, and confirms the effectiveness of planning processes to identify areas to improve.
5. Initiates and manages continuous improvement initiatives in the planning processes.
6. Principle owner of additional MRP / ERP software implementation(s).
7. Monitors capacity necessary to meet customer requirements. Identifying over / under capacity conditions for the purpose of efficient capacity management both human and equipment.
8. Key participant in monthly pre S& OP meetings.
9. Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
10. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

Must complete all required mandatory Safety, OSHA, and ISO 9001 training (see attached list).
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge: MRP, ERP, CRP, Project management, Spread sheeting and charting

Skills: Leadership, Change Management, Consensus Building, Problem Solving, Performance Management,

Education: BS / BA in a related field, APICS certification required

Experience: 10 or more years in an MRP environment in scheduling / planning / production control

Mathematical Skills: Must be able to gather and analyze large amounts of data, quickly drawing logical and accurate conclusions from the data.

Reasoning Ability: Must be able to solve complex multi-dimensional problems quickly and correctly.

Physical Demands: Regularly required to use hands and fingers to input information and provide written communication. Must have mobility to reach various areas of the factory as well as travel to off-site locations. Must be able to communicate verbally. Visual abilities required include the ability read on-screen material and to adjust focus.


Work Environment:
The employee regularly works in a relatively quiet office work environment. The work will involve going into noisy work areas subject to heat and cold and airborne particles.


Any person with an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the appropriate level of knowledge, abilities, and skills related to this position can be considered for this position with review and approval of management.
