Manager, Photo Production

NBC Universal owns and operates a valuable portfolio of news and entertainment networks, a premier motion picture company, significant television production operations, a leading television stations group, and world-renowned theme parks.The Manager, Photo Production will, on a daily basis, supervise photo production and digital imaging staff and their workflow, as well as handle certain administrative responsibilities relevant to staff personnel. The Manager will also, on an ongoing basis, determine the department's technology needs relative to appropriate digital image editing, scanning, image enhancement/retouching and upload software and hardware.Responsibilities include:
Participate personally in the photo editing, scanning, digital image prep, metadata input, image upload to online archive and photo request research activities that make up the core functions of the unit
Oversee image archive development process and interact with designated personnel of multiple content provider business units to facilitate access to image archives
Coordinate ongoing image acquisition and archive expansion with company Vice President and Director, Licensing Sales, and establish priorities and schedule for content production and upload
Evaluate shortterm production goals and coordinate them with the evolving longterm management objectives and vision of the future departmental business strategies and opportunities
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Basic Qualifications:
Three years minimum hands-on digital photo editing and digital image production experience
Skilled in Photoshop CS2
Working knowledge of Filemaker Pro, MS Word and MS Excel
Experience working with both Mac and PCEligibility Requirements:
Ability to work additional hours that can include evenings or weekendsDesired: At least 3 years of strong interpersonal and management skills
At least 3 years demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multi-task and be highly organized
knowledge of digital image editing and image retouch/prep software systems
