Maintenance Mechanic, Class A

Purpose: Job Summary: Job holder must be able to maintain and improve facilities, building, and equipment in a manufacturing and distribution plant. Be able to fabricate when necessary from drawings or sketches. Be able to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include the following. Other duties may be assigned):
- Process improvement on machines (Continuous improvement)
- Understand Advantis Technologies safety program
- Works with hand tools, machine tools, welding equipment, and power tools
- Assists with training of employees and outside contractors
- Perform other tasks as assigned
- Note any Environmental or Safety concerns
- Gather information for ordering parts
- Operate computerized maintenance program; MP2 Access 2000
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical problems with production equipment

- experience with diagnostic tools

Education and/or Experience:
Associate's Degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school plus two years practical experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customer or employees of an organization.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
