MANAGER OF ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH AND SAFETY


Our client, a leading manufacturer of specialty metal products, is seeking a management professional to lead their environmental, health & safety team. They are seeking an EH & S professional who has experience in a manufacturing environment, and who has dealt with governmental regulatory authorities in assuring compliance with environmental, safety and health laws and standards.

The successful candidate will have multi-plant responsibility for the management of EH&S affairs, with approximately 25% travel.

This position is located in the Cleveland, OH area.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Ensure that company safety and environmental programs comply with Federal, State and Local regulatory requirements and standards.
Devise and implement safety and health programs to prevent, correct, and/or control unsafe environmental conditions.
Investigate causes of industrial accidents or injuries; develop solutions to minimize or prevent recurrence.
Lead the review and evaluation, along with plant and manufacturing management, of new and existing operations, to identify and resolve any safety and environmental issues in manufacturing operations.
Develop and implement site safety programs to train new and existing employees in order to maintain regulatory compliance.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
5+ years experience in EH&S engineering and/or management.
Knowledge of policies and procedures associated with compliance with local, state or federal environmental and safety regulations.
Experience with developing relationships with local, state and federal regulatory authorities.
Knowledge of environmental and safety audit procedures, documentation and remedial follow-up.
Knowledge of environmental and safety reporting policies and procedures as defined by Federal, State and Local authorities.
