Lab Manager

Must be local to the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such

as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled

delivery dates in order to plan department operations

· Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for

manufacturing products

· Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing

activities to ensure production and quality of products meets

specifications

· Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational,

manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and

prevent operational delays

· Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational

performance and optimum utilization

· Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and

observes workers to ensure compliance with standards

· Maintains housekeeping in all work areas supervised, and occasionally

conducts housekeeping tours and reports

Performs hands-on operation of machinery, equipment, forklifts, etc. as needed REQUIREMENTS


POSITION REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

· Bachelor's or Associates degree or equivalent; or 4-10 years related experience

· Supervisory/Management experience

· Good oral and communication skills

· Excellent people skills to interact effectively and work productively with a wide range of people. Needs to be a motivator.

· Strong project management background

· Proven track record of delivering on large scale projects

· Experience overseeing all aspects of the project, including planning, resource allocation, and budget

· Excellent multi-tasking skills with ability to prioritize and perform a variety of concurrent tasks with minimal direction

· Capable of taking safety measures and precautions to ensure a safe work environment

· Available to work after hours and weekends as required

· Presents professional, positive, and helpful attitude at all times when interacting with customers and co-workers
