International Quality Assurance Director

INTERNATIONAL QUALITY ASSURANCE DIRECTORWill manage all quality compliance aspects of major international import/catalog operations for domestic and Far East goods.
Will manage a group of finished goods inspectors, in process auditors and administrative personnel to facilitate the corporate quality standards.Will be directing the performance, activities and priorities of all QA operations staff for owned/contracted operations, providing reports on global performance of the quality operations group and ensuring compliance with applicable government/industry agencies and corporate QA practices.
Will travel domestically to vendors and internationally to coordinate all corporate quality aspects.Review all product testing, results and advise vendors and management of results.Recommend, review, evaluate and approve all product packaging and labeling requirements.Act a liaison between all corporate attorneys and internal staff members on product recalls, claims and any third party issues.
Reports to Senior VP of Quality Assurance.

REQUIREMENTS4 year degree is required.MUST have 5+ years in recent manufacturing, catalog or retail quality management of consumer products to include textile and apparel products.Far East quality experience is required.
Hands on factory evaluation and/or vendor certification experience is preferred.Experience working with "big box" retailers such as JC Penny, KMart, Walmart, Target, etc. would be a major plus.Should have good knowledge of federal and state product safety regulations such as ASTM, ISTA, FDA and FTC requirements.Experience working with materials/fabrics and sampling/care verification as well as textile performance testing and GMP's.
