Global Sourcing Leader

Business Unit: GE Industrial, Advanced MaterialsFunction: SourcingResponsibilities: GE Advanced Materials (GEAM) is a $2.4 B business providing high-tech materials solutions to a wide range of global customers in the Silicones and Quartz marketplace. GE's silicones portfolio includes silicone-based products and technology platforms, silanes, sealants and adhesives. GE's quartz portfolio includes high-purity fused quartz and ceramics materials. The Global Sourcing Leader position, reporting to the GE Advanced Materials CEO will have overall leadership for the sourcing strategy for this business and for managing the direct material and indirect / services / utilities supply and purchase for the global business.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Develop and implement overall sourcing strategy and sourcing operating plan to support GEAM growth plans.
Support Pole General Managers in achieving quarterly business goals by ensuring that local Sourcing teams secure supply of all necessary raw materials, indirect materials and services to meet customer demands and to achieve Pole operating plans.
Continuously monitor and analyze the market place to ensure low cost procurement without compromising on high quality raw materials, indirect materials, and services.
Drive Pole Sourcing Teams and Suppliers to meet /exceed cost targets in response to a strong inflationary environment.
Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with key strategic suppliers.
Negotiate key contracts and pricing with suppliers; provide guidance to Pole Sourcing teams to negotiate their buy effectively for the business.
Work closely with the GEAM staff to support key business planning processes and initiatives.
Establish, drive, and maintain all Sourcing metrics for the business.
Provide leadership to members of the Pole Sourcing teams (dotted-line reporting responsibility).
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: * Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Minimum 8 years experience in a technical or business analysis role in the chemical manufacturing industry; 3 years of global responsibility.
Minimum 3 years of direct leadership experience.
Strong understanding of complete supply chain process for large complex chemical manufacturing operation.
Strong negotiation skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to influence all levels of the internal and external organization cross functionally.
Proven ability to develop financial strategies to drive growth; able to understand and provide guidance on business financials.
Outstanding analytical skills; able to manipulate and analyze complex data
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.Eligibility Requirements:
