Epeditor/Planner Technician

Purpose: Aerotek is currently in the need of an Industrial Technician to work in East Hartford, CT. for a 2 year contract. You can go perm after a year or contract up to 2 years.

Job Responsibilities :

Coordinate development hardware ordering requirements.
Consult with engineering to ensure that their conceptual requirements are
structured in the proper format to meet actual ordering requirements.
Create technical data packages including blueprints and QADs to avoid delays in processing orders.
Ensure orders meet appropriate quality requirements. Order hardware to meet the functional requirements of the engines
Support Engineering design and delivery requirements with timely processing of requirements. Prioritize and respond to customers in a timely manner.

Manage Development Engine BOMs as received from Engineering:
Investigate and recommend best source to IPT to meet customer requirements
Input order requirements to appropriate source
Coordinate and monitor schedules with suppliers
Track changes associated with the incremental release of product definition via coordination memos to ensure configuration control.
Provide Industrial Planner with regular delivery status
Facilitate resolution of issues between supplier and IPT?s
Insure Engineering requirements complete
Create production orders notify DFA

Assist production with engine part shortages. Investigate ownership of material requested by Production and get permission from owners. Issue SAP transactions to help production maintain MRP schedule. Assist in upgrading development material.

Provide up-to-date order cost information upon request. Validate information provided by engineering to insure the account numbers provided are correct and open for charges.

Process DCONs and work with financial to insure proper methods to capture costs.
Education Preferred :
Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience preferred
Experience Preferred :
Experience working with suppliers to ensure on-time hardware delivery. Proficiency with SAP, IMAN, MSProject and other MSOffice tools.
Additional Comments :
Some travel to suppliers or to support engines at assembly and test
