Responsibilities of this position include working with other departmental staff to maintain compliance with applicable Local, State, and Federal environmental regulations, as well as, Honeywell's internal policies and procedures. The primary responsibilities of this position will include maintaining the Facility's air-related and water-related environmental programs. Specific requirements include:
Manages and oversees compliance with the Facility's Title V and NPDES permits.
Monitors plant operations and completes permit modifications as required.
Completes permit renewal applications as necessary.
Prepares all compliance reports as required by the Facility's Title V and NPDES permits.
Conducts internal audits and performs sampling of various emission points and/or effluent locations as required.
Maintains environmental records and databases for permit compliance demonstrations.
Monitors and assesses applicability of new regulations and advises plant leadership on compliance strategies.
Manages the Facility's Risk Management Plan.
Responsible for SARA reporting requirements.
Manages the Facility's SWPPP and SPCC plans.
Assists with compliance efforts in other environmental-related programs as needed.
Job Requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimun of Three (3) years of regulatory compliance experience within a chemical manufacturing process preferred.
BS/MS Degree in Environmental Engineering or related technical degree.
Experience with title 35 of the State of Illinois's Administrative Code is preferred.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent oral and written skills for effective communication with regulatory authorities, in-plant and corporate personnel.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or within a team environment.
Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of database software and Microsoft Office.
Detail oriented and competent in preparing accurate compliance reports.

Company Overview
Honeywell can trace its roots back to 1885, when an inventor named Albert Butz patented the furnace regulator and alarm. He formed the Butz Thermo-Electric Regulator Co., Minneapolis, on April 23, 1886, and a few weeks later invented a simple, yet ingenious device that he called the "damper flapper."
Here's how it worked. When a room cooled below a predetermined temperature, a thermostat closed the circuit and energized an armature. This pulled the stop from the motor gears, allowing a crank attached to the main motor shaft to turn one-half revolution. A chain connected to the crank opened the furnace's air damper to let in air. This made the fire burn hotter. When the temperature rose to the preset level, the thermostat signaled the motor to turn another half revolution, closing the damper and damping the fire. The temperature correction was automatic. Over the years, many Honeywell products have been based upon similar, but more complicated closed-loop systems.
