Electrician

Crown Beverage Packaging Division has immediate openings for Production Electricians for their Lawrence, MA aluminum can manufacturing plant for both day and night shifts. The Lawrence employees are represented by the International Association of Machinists Local #1271 and are currently operating under a six (6) year agreement to expire in 2011. The plant operates on a continuous schedule 24/7. Employees work 12-hour shifts that include a paid lunch, with alternating workweek schedules (Mon,Thurs, Fri-Tues, Wed, Sat, Sun) and an average workweek of 42 hours. With overtime above their normal schedule, our electricians earned between $60K and 100K in 2005. Equipment includes bodymakers, printers, washers as well as other packaging machinery. Responsibilities include following all local, state and federal electrical codes. Documentation of problems and maintenance of equipment and facility systems are also required. These positions will also provide training for equipment operation and safety precautions. Responsibilities also include installing and maintaining new and existing electrical wiring within the facility.


Travel Percentage: 0%These positions require the following: * Must be Massachusetts licensed Electricians * High school graduate or equivalent with 3+years experience in a high speed manufacturing environment * Associates/technical degree is preferred * Knowledge of Allen Bradley/Omron/Direct Logic PLC's are required as well as integrated Window software to analyze AC/DC, single phase and 3 phase generators * Knowledge of single and 3-phase up to 440 volt * This position also requires the individual to be able to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics and parts specifications * Effective written and verbal skills
