Electrical and Systems Coordinator
Nature and Scope:
· Supervises and directs the activities of 6 hourly craftsmen in the installation and maintenance of all electrical/electronic equipment while maintaining the most effective manning coverage with minimum labor cost. Administers labor agreement in area of responsibility
· Plans and schedules predictive and preventive maintenance on electrical/ electronic equipment.
· Responds to plant emergency needs to maximize equipment productive time and minimize power related outage, while also providing
failure analysis and implementing measure to prevent further emergencies.
· Identifies equipment deficiencies and initiates corrective action.
· Maintains cost effective inventory of spare parts and equipment that assures rapid response to the productive needs of the plant.
· Develop and provide input during the annual budget and plant capital expenditures.
· Plan, design, select and implement short and long-range equipment upgrades in area of responsibility consistent with the plant’s growth, directions and automation objectives.
· Assure compliance with MSHA, NEC, Environmental and corporate standards. Provide instruction, information and supervision to subordinate personnel as necessary to meet these standards.
· Oversees activities of outside contractors when they are engaged in work in area of responsibility.
· Identifies and plans major repair/replacement projects for completion during annual turnaround shutdown.
· Inputs payroll information for subordinates.
· Identify and develop action for the training and development of subordinates for both on-site and at other locations to upgrade skills, knowledge and effectiveness.
· Functions as an integral member of TYTP in area of reliability, power and automation.
· Interface with vendors, contractors, and engineering firms whose functions are to provide project support with engineering and technical know-how associated with daily operations and capital project installations.
· Provide plant personnel with technical guidance and advice on all areas of electrical engineering and the application of new technology as appropriate.
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
· Four-year technical degree (Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, etc.) is required.
· At least 7 years experience in Industrial Electricity, Electronics and Instrumentation in a process industry coupled with supervisory/management skills could be substituted for education requirement.
Required Skills
· Knowledge of computer based system, electronics, power distribution and loading, thermodynamics and gas analysis is needed.
· Ability to work closely with the other members of the Maintenance Team, Systems Engineer, Process Engineer as well as all levels at the plant, regional management and technical centers.
· Ability to train plant electricians and instrument technicians in maintenance of plant systems.
· Understanding of complex mechanical and electrical technology and equipment.
· Strong analytical skills.
· Achievement oriented, strong work ethic, tenacious, impeccable attention to detail.
· Good written and oral communication skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, sharing of information openly with others.
