Director of Sales

My client is seeking a Director of Sales. My client is a manufacturer of ingredients used in the processing of meat and other foods and needs someone who is a strong sales manager/leader and someone who understands meat/food processing to be able to sell the product and train sales force. This is a unique opportunity within this well established market leader due to the relocation of a key management team member.
REQUIREMENTS
8-10 yrs outside sales in food/meat processing or related business
Experience selling to large national accounts (please specify)
3+ yrs as a sales manager with a sales team of 6+
Bachelors Degree required, MBA preferred

As Director of Sales, you will be leading a team of sales people located across the country. You will be responsible for growing sales and market share by: developing a strategic marketing plan, hiring and training sales force, working with sales force to close large accounts, providing support to sales force, leading the team. Strong understanding of meat processing and/or food processing from operations.
Director of Sales should be hands on, able to talk with clients at all levels within the organization, entrepeneurial - taking a creative approach to solving problems but most of all, the Director of Sales must be able to build a team of sales people capable of working remotely but also as a team when necessary.
